The Three Particles 的, 得, 地 in Chinese language

The Three Particles 的, 得, 地 in Chinese language.
These three particles share the same pronunciation, but the usages are different.

[de] ~’s
Usage: 的 is used to modify noun and show possession.
Form: Description + 的 + Noun

Examples:

1. 漂亮的衣服。
    [Piàoliang de yīfú]
    Beautiful clothes.

2. 黑色的手机。
    [Hēisè de shǒujī]
    Black phone.

3. 老师的书。
    [Lǎoshī de shū]
    Teacher’s book.

4. 妈妈的手表。
    [Māmā de shǒubiǎo]
    Mom’s watch.

Note: 的 can be used to talk about relationship as well, but if you are familiar with that person (family members), 的 can be omitted.

Examples:

1. 我的男朋友。
    [Wǒ de nán péngyǒu]
    My boyfriend.

2. 我妈妈。
    [Wǒ māmā]
    My mother.


[de] There is no specific meaning
Usage: it is used to modify verb (to describe the degree/ quality of an action).
Form: Verb + 得 + Description

Examples:

1. 她说得很慢。
    [Tā shuō de hěn màn]
    She speaks very slow.

2. 我走得很快。
    [Wǒ zǒu de hěn kuài]
    I walk very fast.

3. 他做得很好。
    [Tā zuò dé hěn hǎo]
    He does/did very well.

4. 我说汉语说得很好。
    [Wǒ shuō hànyǔ shuō dé hěn hǎo]
    I speak Chinese very well.

Note: 得 pronoun as [děi] can be used to express obligation as well.

Examples:

1. 她得会家。
    [Tā děi huì jiā]
    He must go home.

2. 我得这样做。
    [Wǒ děi zhèyàng zuò]
    I have to do like that.

[de] There is no specific meaning
Usage: 地 is used to modifier verb (to describe how something happens).
Form: Description + 地 + Verb

Examples:

1. 小声地说。
    [Dàshēng de shuō]
    Speak out loud.

2. 慢慢地说。
    [Màn man de shuō]
    Speak slowly.

3. 认真地想。
    [Rènzhēn de xiǎng]
    Think seriously.

4. 高兴地笑。
    [Gāoxìng de xiào]
    Laugh happily.
